357% Organic Traffic Growth for a US Assisted Living Provider

Get a shortlist

Assisted Living & Senior Care · United States: monthly organic visits grew from 5,800 to 26,500 (+357%) in 15 months, with 167 links built and Domain Rating up from 26 to 51.

The client

Our client is an assisted living and senior care provider with several communities in the United States. It had invested in location pages, service pages and educational content on assisted living, memory care and senior living options, but organic visibility was inconsistent. Some locations did well in local search, while others struggled against large senior-living directories, established regional operators and national care platforms.

The challenge

Senior living is a competitive, trust-sensitive search market. Large directories and established providers had much stronger backlink profiles, which made it hard for individual community and location pages to compete. The client’s backlinks were concentrated on the main domain, and many important location and service pages had almost no external links pointing to them. The job was not just to build more backlinks: we needed to strengthen the client’s overall authority while building relevant links around specific services and geographic markets.

What we did

We combined senior-care relevance, local authority and educational content:

  • Competitor backlink analysis: We analyzed senior living providers and directories ranking for the client’s most important searches and mapped the publications linking to them.
  • Senior care and lifestyle outreach: We secured editorial opportunities on sites covering senior living, retirement, caregiving, health, family and lifestyle topics.
  • Local link building: We reached out to regional publishers, local business websites, community resources and other geographically relevant publications.
  • Resource promotion: We promoted educational content on senior living decisions, caregiving and retirement planning to relevant publishers as a useful reference.
  • Location page support: We built selected backlinks directly to important city and community pages instead of sending everything to the homepage.
  • Contextual link insertions: We found relevant existing articles where the client’s guides could naturally support the topic.
  • Natural anchor strategy: We used branded, URL, location-based and topical anchors to keep the backlink profile diverse.

The results

Over 15 months, the site’s organic visibility became substantially stronger.

  • Organic traffic grew 357%, from about 5,800 to 26,500 visits a month.
  • Domain Rating rose from 26 to 51.
  • Ranking keywords grew from 4,100 to about 17,900.
  • 82 priority service and location keywords entered the top 10.
  • 27 high-value searches reached positions 1–3.
  • Previously underperforming location pages contributed a much larger share of organic traffic.
  • The backlink profile became far more diverse across local, senior-care, lifestyle and informational publishers.

Instead of competing with large senior living directories on content volume alone, the campaign built authority around the locations and services that mattered most to the client’s business.
