What links can do for a SaaS

When respected sites in your field link to you, it is a signal of trust for readers, and it can send visitors who are already interested in software like yours. Links also get your brand in front of a larger audience when you are featured on industry blogs and news sites.

They don’t guarantee rankings or sign-ups. Google has said links are important but overestimated, and that a site can rank without them. Our guide to why invest in link building explains what links can and can’t do, with sources.

We build SaaS links through guest posting, niche edits and blogger outreach, on sites in your niche and markets. To see where buyers research tools, read our guide to where software buyers look before they buy.

Why backlinks matter for SaaS companies

Backlinks are one of the signals search engines use for SaaS websites. They can also bring readers, trust and relationships.

Improved SEO rankings

Search engines use links as one signal of the relevance and authority of a website. A good link building strategy can support your SaaS website’s visibility in search results, which can lead to more traffic and leads. Links alone don’t guarantee rankings.

Credibility and authority

When well-known websites link to you, it is a vote of confidence in your business. That can help establish your brand as an authority and make potential customers more likely to trust you.

Brand awareness

When your content is featured or linked on popular industry blogs and news sites, your brand reaches a larger audience. That helps SaaS companies that want to grow their user base.

Quality traffic and leads

Links from industry-relevant sites can attract visitors who are genuinely interested in your service, which can improve the chances of conversion.

Long-term benefits

Unlike paid advertising, the benefits of link building can last for years: links from high-quality websites may keep supporting your visibility long after they are placed.

Network and relationships

Link building often involves reaching out to industry leaders and relevant websites, which can build relationships that help your business in the long run.

Where links come from

Where links for SaaS companies come from

Most SaaS link profiles draw on these kinds of sites:

Software and SaaS blogs

Reviews, comparisons and how-to articles read by people who are choosing software.

Technology and startup sites

Tech news, startup and product publications that cover new tools and the companies behind them.

Marketing and growth publications

Marketing, sales and growth sites, where SaaS tools are discussed and recommended.

Business and finance sites

Business, operations and finance publications, for tools that help companies run better.

Quality checklist

How we review every placement

Every site passes this checklist before it reaches your shortlist, and you approve each one.

  • Real organic traffic, mostly from your target country
  • Relevant to your niche, with content that reads well
  • At least 20 indexed pages and a steady publishing history
  • Stable traffic and link patterns, with no sudden spikes or drops
  • No private blog network (PBN) and no gray-niche content
  • A person reads 5–10 recent posts before a site reaches your shortlist
  • Less than 50% sponsored posts
  • Domain Rating (DR) that fits your brief

What clients say

Real reviews from agencies and brands we work with.

It was great working with Magfellow. They delivered more than they promised, so would surely like to work with them once again.

Brilliant company, no messing about and deliver exactly what they promise to deliver. Highly recommended!

Magfellow have been great to work with. They have a huge range of publishers that they work with and they provide a very professional level of personal service that you don’t usually find in the SEO services space.

Been working with them for several years and will continue to do so!

Luke and the team at Magfellow have done a great job finding placement for our overflow work. They are very quick to respond and truly care about the service they provide.

If you want to be mentioned in mainstream publications, then you’d be crazy not to work with Magfellow.

Our team loves working with Magfellow. They are one of our favorite partnerships - fast, reliable, and great links.

I’ve been using Magfellow link-building services for the past six months, and I must say that they have exceeded my expectations.

FAQ

SaaS link building FAQs

Answers to the questions we hear most. Contact us if you have others.

Which sites do you use for SaaS?

Software, tech, marketing and business publishers that fit your niche, country and language. You choose the sites from a shortlist and approve the content before it is published.

Can I provide my own content?

Yes. You can supply your own content, or our writers can write it. Either way, you review it before it is published.

Will a placement be marked as sponsored?

Sometimes. It depends on the publisher and the country: some label paid content, and in some markets the law requires it. If a placement will carry a label, we tell you before you approve the site, and you decide whether to go ahead.

Is paying for links against Google’s rules?

Google’s spam policies (updated August 2026) say buying or selling links for ranking purposes is link spam, and that paid links are acceptable when they are marked rel="sponsored" or rel="nofollow". That’s why we tell you, before you approve a site, whether a placement will be labeled. We can’t promise how Google treats any single link. Our guides to buying backlinks and link rel attributes explain more.

How long until my links go live?

Links usually go live within 24–72 hours after you approve the content.

Do you own these sites? Is this just a big PBN (Private blog network)?

No. The sites belong to independent publishers with real audiences, and we do not use private blog networks. PBNs go against Google’s spam policies and can put your site at risk.

Do links still matter for AI search?

Yes, but they are not the whole picture. Studies show that AI tools often cite pages that do not rank in Google’s top 10, and that how often a brand is mentioned across the web goes hand in hand with how visible it is in AI answers. Google says no special optimization is needed for its AI features. So we build links that help your pages rank, and placements that put your brand on relevant sites. We cannot promise rankings or AI mentions. The evidence, with sources, is in our guide to the future of link building.
